Today, in the highly competitive world of better and better graphics, companies commonly take the major productions created by the best graphics card brands in the world and barely alter them. After very minute changes, they proceed with sticking their own brand name on the final product. This often leads to the difference between the supposedly updated card and the improved version being just a sticker.

If you want to get the most from your purchase, avoid companies that simply place their brand name on generic versions of cards. When you buy an Asus graphics card, you are buying one of the best graphics cards produced in the entire world.

When you take an Asus graphics card off the store shelf, you can be assured that you are buying one of the highest quality graphics cards supplied on the market today.

How to Update Drivers Automatically

If you want to know how to update drivers, you need to attempt to do it automatically. Why is this? You should try to do this automatically because you will save time, and it may be just what you need. If it isn’t, then you can try something different.

Device Drivers

Our computers are made up of many diverse working ‘devices’. While most of these are inside of our computers and integral to their systems, many are external, in the form of scanners, cameras, printers and more. To keep these devices in working order, we also need to keep our drivers current.

Drivers tell the computer how everything functions, so it is essential to keep those drivers up to date or your computer won’t run the way it should. If you aren’t sure how to keep your driver up to date, this can be a headache.

Ways to Update Your Graphic Driver, Sound Driver, and Modem Driver

It will come as a relief that you won’t need to understand how computer devices work in order to update them.

All of the hard work can be handled by various programs designed for just this purpose. If you need to upgrade drivers that operate your BIOS, ASUS, WinXP or other functions, you can find a program that will simply look through your computer and create a current list of the newest drivers which you can upgrade to.

Figuring out how to update drivers mechanically will save you time and effort. A lot of computers come with software in them that can look for updates. The software that is already built into the computer might not be able to upgrade everything, but it is a good place to begin.

If the built-in software is not enough to upgrade your driver, then you should look for another way to get your system operating efficiently and smoothly, such as looking into a different driver tool.

BlackBerry Curve 8900: The Universal Cell Phone

For years BlackBerry phones have only appealed to one type of consumer. With their vast business applications BlackBerry phones have always been an invaluable tool to anyone working for a large company or in a business setting. With such a specific target audience BlackBerry phones needed a way to reach more people. The new RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 makes that possible. The Curve 8900 takes what BlackBerry phones have been good at and completely revamps it for a new younger media centered audience. This phone will make a great device for business people as well as anyone else looking for an amazing phone with media streaming functionalities.

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 has enhanced the look and design from previous installments. To date it is the thinnest BlackBerry phone with a full QWERTY keypad. When compared to the bulkier thicker phones out there the Curve 8900 is an obvious step in the right direction. The phone also has a more modernized look which is another improvement. In the past BlackBerry phones werent that fashionable, but this new Curve is very presentable with its finely applied paints and finishes. The screens size isnt much to write home about but the color display is simply beautiful. Colors, images, videos, etc will appear very colorful, sharp, and vibrant. The Curve 8900 is also smaller that all over BlackBerry phones before it. Amazingly typing on the keyboard doesnt suffer from the small size. The keys are still spaced well enough apart and are very tactile to the touch because they are raised.

This phone has a wide variety of functions that make it useful for business people as well as enjoyable for casual users. For starters one doesnt need to download an application to open and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. A Curve 8900 user can do that right off that bat with the new DataViz program. Alternatively the phone features an improved web browser that supports full HTML. Wi-Fi is readily available and allows users to surf the web fairly quickly as well as stream movie and music. With the new web service users are even now able to watch YouTube clips from their BlackBerry. Unfortunately compared with other phones the web surfing is rather slow because of the phones lack of any 3G support.

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 features a 3.2 megapixel camera which takes good looking photos. It is far superior to the 2 megapixel camera found on most other BlackBerry phones. Surprisingly the camera can also record video. But the quality was decent.

The actual phone performs very well. The microphone does a good job at not picking up any background noise so the person on the other line will not have any trouble understanding you. Also the speakerphone was quite functional. The volume was adequate and there wasnt much distortion coming through the speaker when the volume was increased.

The Curve 8900 is a great phone. Anyone who was interested in getting a BlackBerry but deterred away by the lack of media applications of previous phones should seriously consider the Curve 8900. The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 will please business people as well as everyone else too.

Scan Windows Registry

Scan Windows Registry

Windows registry is simply a constantly expanding database that lives in all Microsoft Windows operating system which keeps all settings, options, preferences, and hardware options of the user. The registry continues to grow every time you start Windows. Each time your computer starts up, it always checks the registry to let every installed program know the settings, documents, program paths, and much more stuff. The registry gradually gets bloated junk this way, and this slowly leads to a degradation in your computer’s speed.

When you put a new program on your computer and then uninstall a program, traces of the program will remain in the registry entries also.

Here’s where it gets tricky — Once you have instituted a change to the registry, it can’t be undone without specialized programs (or manual editing).

Manually editing your registry would be a nightmare and is NOT a job an amateur should attempt. Think of it this way: the most desireable registry is still a pure registry.

Since the days of Windows 95, the majority of programs will intentionally leave behind entries in the registry to preserve licensing information, which aren’t removed during an uninstall. This left over junk continues to build up until a registry cleaner application is employed to get rid of it.

Also, many software malfunctions will further screw up your registry.

What to look for in an excellent registry cleaner

Registry cleaning programs are designed to check the registry, locate, and remove the unnecessary entries it holds. But that is the perfects situation. The truth is, there is no flawless registry cleaner. All registry cleaners have algorithms which assist them “identify” what is a vital key and which is trash. There is no way of knowing if deleting a registry key will affect computer performance in subtle ways. Therefore, a good registry cleaner should allow the user to backup the registry before you begin repairing the registry.

Here is the safe way of backing-up your registry very simply:

Click (from Windows menu) Start - Run
Type: regedit (which opens up the registry editor window)
From the box, hit File - Export
Save it as something you can remember, preferably including the date

When you look around, there’s actually 4 kinds of registry cleaners:

Deep scan registry cleaners
Surface scan registry cleaners
Balanced scanning registry cleaners
Virus infected registry cleaners

A deep cleaner can be harmful to your computer because it may remove some important registry keys by being overzealous. A light scanning one, is of little use also; it simply skims the surface. A fake registry cleaner is dangerous, since it is malware cloaked as a registry cleaner. Don’t download anything just because it’s free!

The “best” registry cleaner is one that:

Defrags your registry
Allows backups of the registry
Asks you if you want to delete each entry and provides solutions
Perform other spin-off tasks in addition to registry work

Instead of just suffering with the snail-like speed of your computer and the constant crashes, you can actually do something about it.  Do yourself a favor and get yourself a quality registry cleaner.  It will help your system run as smoothly and quickly as the day you first brought it home.

HL 5250DN Toner Cartridge Printer A Good Solution For Home Use

June 3, 2009 · Filed Under Computer Hardware · Comment

If you are a small office and you are seeking an affordable yet quality printer solution the Brother HL-5250DN printer is network ready and has features that have yet to be seen on more expensive products. It is also an ideal solution for home desktop use for a family who wishes to make use of one networked laser printer. The printer comes out of the box network-ready and has both a USB 2.0 and BaseT Ethernet parallel port.

This printer is compact, but by no means a light-weight. However it only weighs 22 pounds (not a ton) and it is small enough to fit comfortably on a desk-top. The paper tray is found beneath the printer which is quite a space saver and connecting it to the network is a breeze. You just follow the step-by-step instructions included in the packaging.

The manufacturers specification indicates that the out-put rating for this printer is 20 000 pages per month. Although the paper tray will only take 250 sheets, and this may be too little for some small businesses. It can take two additional paper trays, however these are really prohibitively expensive considering the price of the actual printer itself.

You are easily able to set this printer up against a wall or partition as it has no exit at the rear for paper. It also has a 150 sheet tray for out-put paper and a 50 sheet tray for multi-purpose use. However it must be noted that non-standard media such as card and envelopes do not have a straight paper path.

The quality of output on this printer is very good; in fact I might even put this as being exceptional. It supports resolutions of up to 1,200X1,200 dpi. So even when using small font sizes the text is sharp, while grayscale and photo images come out looking very smooth.

After a period of inactivity this printer can spring into live and print out a page within less than 9 seconds. The manufacturer’s specifications rate its speed at 30 pages per minute. But in the real world, how often is it that a product actually measures up to the manufacturers specifications? However if you would like to time it, please be my guest. One thing is unlikely, and that is it is doubtful that anyone would complain whilst waiting impatiently for a printed document.

For any small business or home use the Brother HL-5250DN provides a flexible solution. It is a monochrome Brother HL 5250DN Toner Cartridge which has the capability to produce extremely professional documents. It also has the ability to print double sided documents, which is a fantastic solution for brochures or manuals. Standard this printer comes out of the box with a 32MB memory. For the printing of more complex jobs, this can however be upgraded to 544MB.

Like most machinery which is technologically advanced the Brother HL-5250DN printer, will only produce the print quality it was designed to produce if you make use of Brother HL 5250DN Toner Cartridge. Use of any other toner product could mean you are looking for trouble. No-one want to have to troubleshoot their printer if they have a rush job which needs to get out, so rather be safe than sorry, and use the correct toner.

Summary: In the home or small office environment, the Brother HL-5250DN, together with the use of HL 5250DN Toner, will ensure you of an affordable, good quality printer product.
